>Back to Employment Page95.5 WPLJ-FM in New York City has an immediate opening for a Continuity / Traffic Coordinator with prior experience. The Continuity / Traffic Coordinator receives commercial “traffic” instructions from advertising agencies, clients and the station’s account executives, matches them up with audio files (commercials), then assigns a media number, arranges for their production and enters the information into WPLJ’s traffic system. It is a critically important position as station revenue is derived from the correct airing of commercials. The coordinator works closely with the Traffic Director, Sales Managers and Production Staff. This position reports to the Traffic Director.
Duties include, but not limited to:
• Entering all copy in traffic software and completing paperwork for production
• Ensure all commercial copy complies with broadcast standards and practices
• Keep accurate records of all copy / instructions for a simple audit trail
• Reconcile commercial logs daily
• Prepare monthly broadcast affidavits
• Assist Traffic Director as required
• Cross-train as traffic backup
Requirements:
• Immeasurable attention to detail
• Ability to work under strict deadlines with unerring accuracy
• Excellent time management, organizational and problem solving skills
• Familiarity with various audio formats
• Familiarity with FCC rulings as they apply to commercial content
• Bachelors Degree, Communications / Broadcasting preferred
• Solid computer skills and willingness to learn new industry-related software
• Minimum two years experience in the same or similar position
• Previous experience with Marketron or Stratus Software a plus
